Software development blunders….not using risk management

Almost all the major project decisions are made without formally evaluating the potential risks and/or consequences?

Formalized risk management is highly underused in project management.

This affects most phases of a project, including effort evaluation, team selection, project planning, project execution, and over all control.  When budgets are tight, ignoring risk management during software development becomes the biggest blunder.

While the focus is typically on schedule and budget during software projects, risk management should not be ignored.
