Expand / contract folders in tree view with ease…

It is a time-consuming process to expand a folder by clicking on the (+) for each and every directory / sub-directory, I was looking for something which lets you expand and contract them all at once, with one keystroke….this is what I found….

While in Windows Explorer, simply highlight the parent folder (on the tree view / left side) you wish to expand and

  1. Press ‘*’ (asterix on the keypad) and all the sub folders will expand out,
  2. Press ‘-‘ (minus on the keypad) and they’ll all contract back again.

This does help a great bit when you are very organized and you have multi-level directory structure.
