Increase the number of simultaneous downloads (which is normally limited to 2)

Ideally (by default) you are only allowed to download two files at one time. This limitation can prove to be quite an inconvenience for anyone who downloads quite a lot on the Internet. A simply registry tweak can be done to remove this limitation.
Start Registry Editor
Once you are in the registry editor, navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
Right click in the empty space (on the right), and create a new DWord (32-bit) value by choosing New > DWord Value. Name it:MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server
Double click this entry and modify the value to the preferred maximum number of downloads
Create another DWord: MaxConnectionsPerServer
Once again, double click this entry and modify the value to the preferred maximum number of downloads.
Just restart the Internet Explorer and you should be able to have more simultaneous downloads running.
